17 January 2020FA 19/11/00819Provide documents related to policy on priority of processing subclass 189 visa applications. It appears that visa applications are not being processed at a "first come first served" basis and there is a huge variation in time taken to grant a visa. The Department of Home Affairs states that circumstance varies between applications but it does not seem to justify why some applications lodged in early 2019 can be granted before those submitted in mid to late 2018. Include documents that highlight how the department ensures applications are processed in a timely and fair manner.
