Good news stories

You will need:
- your contact details
- the name of your grant
- your Activity ID. This is on the grant details page (usually pages 3-4) of your Grant Agreement
- to submit a good news story by pasting it into the form or upload as a PDF
- at least one photograph
- the consent of people in the story and photographs.
As a guide, good news stories should:
- be written in the ‘first person’. This means naming someone who says ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘my’ and ‘we’.
For example:
CEO Jane Smith says, “This grant means we can upgrade a facility for our community.”
or
I am excited about our new facility to support our community. - include the name and position of the person quoted
- include who, what, where, when and why
- include the benefit or outcome for participants in your grant activity
- be timely, about something has happened recently
- be about 300 words long.
Include at least one photo with your good news story. Close, active photos of 1 or 2 people are better than large groups of people.
Ideally, photos should include:
- the person ‘speaking’ in your story, clearly showing their face
- the relevant facility, a person using the facility, or a person receiving a service related to your grant funding.
You can upload a maximum of 4 attachments. Maximum file size: 2MB. Maximum total file size: 10MB. Accepted file formats are PDF, JPG, PNG.
You must agree to the Department of Home Affairs using the information and photographs in promotional material and publications.
We will contact you if we need more information.
