Non-personal access requests

​​​​​​The Freedom of information Act 1982 (FOI Act) gives you a right to access information that the department and other Commonwealth agencies hold. You can request documents we hold, and we will then assess your request against the provisions of the FOI Act. We will give you the document, unless an exemption applies.

Requests are often about manuals, rules and guidelines that we use to make decisions. You can also ask for information about visa or citizenship applications or decisions.
