Feedback on your security screening experience

If you have feedback or complaint about how the screening process was completed:

  • you can ask to speak to the on-duty screening supervisor while you are at the airport
  • you can contact the relevant airport after you have left.

Airports and their service providers are responsible for how they provide aviation security services. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations and customer service aspects of security screening.

Contact details for major Australian airports are listed below. If the airport you need to contact is not listed below, visit its website for email and other contact options.

Questions about what you can and can’t pack

If you are not sure what you can take on board a flight, you should contact your airline directly.

The Department of Home Affairs sets the broad requirements for aviation security. This includes requirements for screening passengers and their luggage.

The Department of Home Affairs cannot give advice about how specific airlines and airports operate. Airlines and airports have their own operating procedures to meet the government’s security outcomes.
