Feedback on your screening experience

If you have feedback or a complaint about how the screening process was carried out, you can:

  • ask to speak to the on-duty screening supervisor while you are at the airport
  • contact the relevant airport after you have left.

Airports and their contractors are responsible for how they provide aviation security services. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations and customer service aspects of security screening.

We have listed the contact details for major Australian airports below. If we haven’t included the airport you wish to contact, most airports have a ‘contact us’ page on their website. This should provide an email address or other contact options.

Questions about what you can and can’t pack

If you aren’t sure what you can take on board a flight, you should contact your airline directly.

The Department of Home Affairs sets the broad requirements for aviation security. This includes requirements for screening passengers and their luggage. We cannot give advice about how specific airlines and airports operate. They have their own operating procedures to meet the government’s security outcomes.
