Funding to support health outcomes and collaboration between communities in conflict
The Australian Government has announced its intention to provide $4 million to boost the health sector in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, by addressing critical gaps in rehabilitation services and capacity-building of health workers.
The funding will be a one-off ad hoc grant through The Project Rozana Foundation Ltd (Rozana), to support communities who have suffered injury and facilitate cross collaboration between health professionals in Australia, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Established in 2013, Rozana is an international organisation which promotes access to quality healthcare through joint initiatives between communities in conflict.
The Department of Home Affairs will manage funding arrangements in accordance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles 2024 and following the completion of all necessary due diligence processes.

The Government is providing a further $5 million to Australian Palestinian-led community organisations to support the urgent needs of Palestinian and Muslim communities in Australia who have been affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict.
- $2.6 million will be disbursed through one-off grants to Australian Palestinian-led community organisations to provide further emergency relief to meet the needs of recent arrivals from Gaza and to support the social inclusion and participation of Palestinian Australians across Australia.
- $2.4 million will be disbursed through new, one-off grants to community organisations with a track record of providing youth services and pathways to positive community engagement in order to build the leadership, capacity and confidence of young Muslim Australians impacted by the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
This funding is in addition to the $3 million package provided to the Australian Red Cross which is focused on emergency, cash-based assistance to temporary arrivals from Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories who are in financial hardship.
