Subclass 457 visa program integrity review - 2008
On 14 April 2008 the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, announced the establishment of an independent integrity review process to be conducted by industrial relations expert Ms Barbara Deegan, following concerns raised about the subclass 457 visa program. The final report was completed in October 2008 and handed over to the Skilled Migration Consultative Panel to consider the recommendations.

Independent review of the subclass 457 visa program - 2014/15
In 2014 the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, announced an independent review of the subclass 457 visa program. The final report of the panel is titled Robust New Foundations - A Streamlined, Transparent and Responsive System for the 457 Programme (1.4MB PDF).
On 18 March 2015, the government responded to the recommendations of the panel, and a copy of the recommendations and information on the Government response is available on our website.

Review of the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) - 2017
Review of the Temporary Skilled Migration Threshold (1MB PDF) report was released on 24 February 2017.
Mr John Azarias was appointed by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, to undertake an evidence-based review of the TSMIT. The review consulted widely, including with a range of industry peak bodies/associations, unions, government, businesses, migration agents and academics. 40 written submissions were received during the review.
The review was recommended by the recent Independent review into integrity in the subclass 457 visa program - 2014/15.
