We are inviting you to participate in a survey of recent migrants to Australia. The survey will provide up-to-date information about migrants who have recently arrived in Australia, or who were recently granted a permanent or provisional visa. In the survey we ask your reason for coming to Australia, experience of working in Australia, education in Australia and overseas, and level of English ability.
The results of the survey will be used to determine whether or not our current policies are appropriate. The results will also help us understand how well new migrants are settling into Australia and the types of issues new migrants experience. Understanding these factors helps us to best manage Australia's Migration Program and the Australian Government to best provide settlement services for migrants
Migrants participating are surveyed on two occasions to capture changes in their labour market status and measure how they have settled into Australian life. This is the first 'introductory' survey, and the follow-up survey will take place in 12 months.
Since 2013, the Social Research Centre has been conducting the survey on our behalf. Terms and conditions for this survey are available on the Social Research Centre website.
To complete the introductory survey, select 'Start survey' below. You will be taken to a secure external website to enter the Login code provided in a letter we sent to you.
