This process seeks information and evidence to inform Cargo Reporting System Transformation (CRST) opportunities. This includes modern, streamlined and data-driven approaches that leverage modern technologies and design environments.

Scope of CRST consultation

This consultation covers the cargo reporting environment. This includes data sharing, industry connectivity, the development of systems, and international experience. ​We seek evidence-based input. This includes lessons learned from large-scale domestic and international cargo system implementation and operation.

How you can contribute

We encourage insights from technology providers and organisations with experience in customs, regulatory systems, trade, logistics, financial services, large‑scale transactions and reporting platforms.

How we will use feedback

Feedback that we receive will inform an understanding of future capabilities and operating models. We will not publish individual submissions as part of the consultation process. However, we will publish an overview of feedback.

Deadline

Submissions close 5:00 pm AEST on 03 July 2026.

This is a discovery and consultation process. It is not a procurement activity or process. Next steps are subject to government consideration and decision-making processes.
