A managed fund for the purpose of the Significant Investor visa and Premium Investor visa is a managed investment scheme defined in the Corporations Act 2001. Any interests issued in the fund must not be able to be traded on a financial market and must be covered by an Australian Financial Services Licence.
Investments in complying managed funds include those made through an Investor Directed Portfolio Service.
The central management of the managed fund must be in Australia. The investor and the investor’s spouse or de factor partner of the managed fund must not be involved in the management or control of the fund.
