Immigration detention in Australia

We treat all people in detention with respect, dignity and fairness. While in an immigration detention facility, we provide appropriate food, medical, recreational and other support services, including mental health services. Detainees are able to access legal representation in accordance with the Migration Act 1958 and we provide detainees with the means to contact family, friends and other support. If a detainee requires an interpreter, we will provide one. We respect and cater for religious and cultural diversity.
