Service locations

Our office in Port Moresby manages visa and citizenship services for clients in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. We have a Service Delivery Partner (SDP) agreement with TT Services to provide Australian visa application services.

Papua New Guinean nationals can apply online for most Australian visas and citizenship through ImmiAccount. This is the preferred and most efficient way to apply.

This office provides immigration and visa service to clients in Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

We have an agreement with our Service Delivery Partner, TTServices to provide Australian visa and citizenship by descent lodgement. We refer to them as our Australian Visa Application Centres.

You can lodge your application with them in Port Moresby or Honiara. A fee will be charged for this service in addition to the scheduled fee charged by us for all visa and citizenship by descent applications.

Payment information

Online payment is the preferred payment method. If you are lodging an online application, payment is made when you submit the application.

If you are lodging a paper application, you can login to ImmiAccount, select My Payments from the Manage Payments section, then select Pre-Pay Paper Service. After you have made your payment, record the receipt number on your application and include a copy of your receipt.

Methods of payment accepted at the Australian Visa Application Centres (AVACs) are available on the AVAC website.

Citizenship

Citizenship by descent, citizenship by conferral and applications for evidence of citizenship can be lodged online through ImmiAccount. ​​​​​​​​​​​​

Applications for citizenship by descent can be lodged at the AVAC and are processed at this office.

Applications to resume or renounce (give up) Australian citizenship should be sent to the Australian address on the form.

Certificates are available. Only those issued by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) Headquarters - Office of National Criminal Records & Interpol (NCRO), Konedobu, Port Moresby are acceptable. Certificates must be signed by the delegated signatory.

Certificates issued by other provinces, or other criminal records offices, are not acceptable, including Lae RPNGC offices.

Relevant document: ‘Police Character Check Form’ or ‘Overseas Character Check Form’.
Residents: Applicants should complete an ‘Overseas Character Check Form’* and lodge the application in person, with a receipt of PGK10 from the Provincial Treasury Cash Office, at the NCRO Police Headquarters, Spring Garden Road, Konedobu
Applicants outside Papua New Guinea: Applicants should compile the following documents: ‘Overseas Character Check Form’*, bank draft for the amount of PGK10, Fingerprints – taken at their local police station accompanied by a statutory declaration to the Royal PNG Constabulary stating these are the applicant’s fingerprints, a copy of their passport biodata page (sometimes required by RPNGC so best to send in the first instance).
 Send the documents via post or courier (courier with tracking preferred), along with a prepaid satchel to enable return certificate, to the Contact Details above. 
Note: Foreign nationals who are no longer resident in PNG normally require the assistance of a third person in country to obtain the certificate on their behalf. If assistance cannot be obtained from someone based in PNG, it will be difficult for the person to obtain a certificate. Post will support a waiver request in these cases if suitable effort has been made by the applicant initially.
