Service locations

​There is no Australian diplomatic mission in Hungary. Our office in Belgrade, Serbia, manages visa and citizenship services for clients in Hungary.

Note: Austrian nationals can apply online for most Australian visas and citizenship through ImmiAccount. This is the preferred and most efficient way to apply. Any paper applications (where applicable) should be sent to the Australian Embassy, Berlin.

This office provides immigration and visa services to clients in Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic of), Montenegro, Romania and Slovenia.

Payment​ information

Online payment is the preferred payment method. If you are lodging an online application, payment is made when you submit the application.

If you are lodging a paper application, you can login to ImmiAccount, select My Payments from the Manage Payments section, then select Pre-Pay Paper Service. After you have made your payment, record the receipt number on your application and include a copy of your receipt.

Citizenship by descent, citizenship by conferral and applications for evidence of citizenship can be lodged online through ImmiAccount.

Applications for citizenship by descent are processed at the Australian High Commission London.​​

​Applications to resume or renounce (give up) Australian citizenship should be sent to the Australian address on the form.​​​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​

Applications can be handled electronically through the client service portal on the web page below (having a client gate is a requirement).

Relevant document: 'Certificate of Good Conduct' (Hatósági  Erkölcsi Bizonyítvány)
Residents: Apply either in person at the street address above, bypost to the postal address above or by electronic means to the website above.
Non-residents: Apply at the nearest Hungarian embassy or consulate.
Provide: Application form (available on the website or at any post office), ID number, full names (current and previous), date and place of birth, mother's maiden name, and your permanent address.
Processing time: Approximately eight working days from the date the application is received.
Fee: Payable.
