​The Australian Embassy in Zagreb has no visa function.  The Department's office in Vienna, Austria, manages visa and citizenship services for clients in Croatia.

This office provides immigration and visa services to clients in Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Slovak Republic and Slovenia.

Permanent visa applications from clients currently residing in Kosovo can also be lodged at the Australian Embassy in Belgrade.​​

Credit card is the preferred payment option.

Credit Card​

Payments using credit card will be processed in Australian dollars (AUD). We accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, Diners and JCB. When paying by a credit card you may incur a credit card surcharge, banking and currency conversion fees and you will need to accept the risk associated with any currency fluctuations.​​​​​

Prior to lodging your application, you may need to notify your bank of an upcoming foreign credit card transaction. Failure to do so may result in your transaction being declined. Without payment your application is invalid.

Credit card transactions processed in Australian dollars (AUD) are processed in Australia.​​​​​ A credit card surcharge may apply to transactions made using your credit card.

For credit card payments use the Payment Details Form - 1440​.​​​​​


You can pay by cash in Euros (EUR) only at the embassy counter. We cannot accept payments in cash in Australian dollars (AUD).​

​Making payment in Australia

Fees may be paid​ at any of our offi​ces in Australia. Once the fee has been paid, you will need to provide a copy of the receipt with your application.​​​

Applications for Citizenship by Descent are processed by the Australian High Commission in London.​​

​Applications for Australian citizenship general eligibility and other situations, and applications to resume or renounce (give up) Australian citizenship should be lodged at the Canberra Visa and Citizenship office in Australian Capital Territory​.

Relevant document: Applicants are required to provide two Certificates:

  • ‘Certificate of No Convictions’ (Potvrda o Nekaznjavanju) from the Ministry of Justice
  • certificate from the Municipal Court (Opcinski Sud) at the place of applicant’s last residence.

  • Residents: Apply to the Ministry of Justice at the address above and to the Municipal Court (Opcinski Sud) at the place of applicant’s last residence.
    Non-residents: Apply for Certificate of No Convictions (Potvrda o nekaznjavanju) in person or by post to the nearest Croatian Embassy or Consulate. Apply for Certificate (Uvjerenje) from the County/Municipal Court (Opcinski Sud) at the place of applicant’s last residence, or authorise a third party to apply on their behalf.
    Provide: Application form (available on website), original or certified copy of ID card (Osobna Iskanzica), or passport (Putovnica).
    Fee: Payable.
    Processing time: ’While you wait’ if applying in person, or a few days if the certificate is to be posted.
