We are committed to the Australian Government's regulatory reform agenda.
What we are doing as part of the regulatory reform agenda
We have undertaken a number of reforms associated with visas, trade, import permits and export controls, making a significant reduction in the red tape burden for our clients. Further information about these measures is provided in the
Annual Red Tape Reduction Report 2015.
We regularly assess, in partnership with key stakeholder groups, our performance against the Australian Government’s
Regulator Performance Framework.
We have also developed a set of
Criteria for adopting International Standards and Risk Assessments (179KB PDF) to improve our efficiency and minimise the differences between some of our compliance requirements and those in other countries.
Cutting red tape
Cutting red tape will improve the efficiency of business and the community engaged in migration, travel and trade, and enhance Australia's economic competitiveness, innovation and productivity. For more information on the Australian Government's regulatory reform agenda, visit the
Deregulation Agenda website.
