Commonwealth Illicit Drugs Joint Agency Taskforce

The Taskforce works across the Commonwealth to combat illicit drugs to reduce supply, demand and harm.

We bring together agencies with a role in combating illicit drugs to reduce the harm they cause to the Australian community.

  • the nature of the illicit drug threat in Australia
  • what the Commonwealth Government is doing to combat it
  • links to helpful resources for those who may wish to seek support

Reporting dashboards

Our monthly reporting dashboard provides a snapshot of what the Australian Government is doing to combat illicit drugs.

Each dashboard has a range of statistics, including:

  • drug seizures

Case studies

The threat posed by illicit drugs is complex. The threat is compounded by the involvement of:

  • transnational, serious and organised crime groups; and
  • the rise of globalisation and technology

The CID JATF has developed case studies to illustrate the extent of the threat. Each demonstrates the impacts illicit drugs have on the Australian community.
