This grant is part of the Government’s
Modernised Multicultural Grant Program.
The core purpose of the Multicultural Grassroots Initiatives grants program is to:
- enhance the capacity of multicultural community-led grassroots organisations to foster a cohesive multicultural Australia
- increase understanding of racial, religious and cultural diversity
- foster integration through increased levels of social participation by culturally and linguistically diverse Australians
- foster a sense of community and belonging among culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Round One
Round One of the Multicultural Grassroots Initiatives program saw more than $6.6 million allocated to 132 projects across Australia.
Successful organisations received funding ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 over 2 years from 2024–25. The funding supported:
- multicultural celebrations
- community amenity upgrades
- social and intercultural programs.

Round Two
Round Two of the Multicultural Grassroots Initiatives program resulted in 123 organisations offered $5,000,000 of funding.
Successful organisations received funding ranging from $10,000 to $80,000 over 2 years from 2025-26. The funding will support:
• multicultural events
• cultural or intercultural programs.
Organisations that received funding under Round One were not eligible to apply for funding under Round Two.
Successful organisations will be published on GrantConnect by the end of July 2026.
