Following the 6 December 2024 arson attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue, the Australian Government funded:
- $250,000 to restore salvageable Torah scrolls, and the replacement of scrolls which were beyond repair
- up to $1.2 million for security upgrades
- up to $30 million from 2025-26 over 3 years to restore the Adass Israel Synagogue and Community Centre.
These grants ensure a safe facility for the community to connect and foster engagement and social cohesion.
