Video Navigating LEGENDcom - video

Welcome to our LEGENDcom instructional training video. Today I am going to show you how to navigate the LEGENDcom system using the table of contents and the quick links. Both of these tools can be used to access specific information on visa subclasses or general migration information.

On screen: Legendcom home page.

This is the LEGENDcom home page. Across the top of the screen there are several tabs titled Home, Migration, Citizenship, Forms, Quick Links, Advanced Search, Help, and FAQs. The tab that you are currently viewing will have an orange strip highlighted underneath the tab title; here you can see the Home button is highlighted. Below the tabs there is the LEGENDcom helpdesk notice page where notices are posted about scheduled outages, forms notices and other critical information. Across the left hand side of your screen there are tabs to navigate between the different types of messages. Notices about free interactive LEGENDcom training that is delivered face-to-face around Australia, will be located in the Training tab.  Underneath the notices there are lists of updates to the Migration and Citizenship folders, to view more updates simply select the view all button. To the right hand side of the notices there is a basic search box available. There is also a link at the bottom of the box where you can access a more advanced form of search. Directly below the basic search box there is a list of external links that will take you out of LEGENDcom to other useful sites like Comlaw and the High Court of Australia. The footer at the bottom of your screen will give you access to the LEGENDcom terms and conditions.

To access Migration information you hover your cursor over the Migration tab. A drop down will appear where you can select the year of information that you want to access. Hover your cursor over the correct year and an additional drop down will appear with date ranges of information. When you locate the correct date range hover your cursor over that date to access the Act, Regulations, Policy and Migration Series Instructions. Hover your cursor over the type of information you want to access and click on the folder to open it.

Alternatively if you are on a device such as an Ipad that does allow for easy cursor use, click on the migration tab. A screen will appear allowing you to select the date and folder type of information you wish to view.

The Table of Contents will appear on the left hand side of your screen. The document you have selected will be displayed on the right. To view more information in the Table of Contents click the white triangle next to the folder to expand it. To access Schedule 2 requirements you will need to select the correct date in the migration tab dropdowns or use the links under the migration tab to access the correct date.

Expand the Migration Regulations 1994 folder and then the Schedule 2 folder. Click on the visa subclass number to access the regulations and they will appear on the right-hand side.

To access current Schedule 2 pages using the Quick Links simply select the tab at the top of the screen title ‘Quick Links’. You will then be able to select from a Subclasses-numerical and a subclasses alphabetical link. The numerical list will display all visa subclass sorted by number whereas the alphabetical list will sort alphabetically by visa subclass title. Scroll down the list until you see the visa subclass number or title you want to access and click on the blue link over the title or number to access the page. It is important to note that this link will only take you to current information, if you need to access historic Schedule 2 regulations use the migration tab or the search.

On the Schedule 2 page there are hyperlinks available that will jump the page from one location to another in blue. Click on green highlighted text to access pop-ups with further information. To go back to the Schedule 2 page close the pop-up by clicking on the X in the upper right hand corner of the pop-up.
