Scanning your photograph

To successfully scan your passport size photograph:

  • ensure it is endorsed and signed by the same authorised person who signed your Identity declaration
  • scan both sides of the photograph separately - showing your picture on one scan and the authorised person's declaration and signature on another scan
  • ensure the photo is upright and scanned in colour
  • do not place the photo on a piece of paper before scanning
  • do not attach the photograph to your form 1195 – Identity declaration

Compressed files and tips for reducing file size

To reduce the file size of a .JPG image you can set the resolution to 96 DPI (dots per inch).
